ORC Pit to Paradise: Week Four

Week four.  I pulled some weeds, spent entirely too much money ordering grass, and Patrick hit the gas line.  That's literally what we accomplished this week.

We did have the utilities marked before we dug, but we missed the memo that wherever they mark for the gas line has an eighteen inch allowance to the right and left.  We also didn't know that most underground gas lines are flexible plastic, not metal.  When Patrick felt some "springy resistance" while digging a post hole for the obstacle course, he assumed it was a root.  Then he heard a hissing sound, asked me if I smelled gas (I did), and we evacuated to the front yard.  Thankfully no one was hurt, and the gas company repaired it for free.

Grass will be delivered sometime Saturday, and we only have two more weeks to finish this space.  That means hopefully a much bigger post next week!  I haven't had as much time as I'd like to look at other ORC spaces, so please tell me your favorites!  To see the whole list of participants and how they're doing this week, click here.
